1. Will you provide a quote for printing?
We are always happy to quote on all jobs so there are no surprises on both sides. It makes sure that we will be producing the job that you require and including all elements expected. To request a quote please go to the Contact Us part of our website.
2. How long will it take for you to complete my job?
Every job is different. Some jobs just take a couple of days to complete but others have several processes that need to take place and will require more time. Let us know when you need your job completed and we can let you know if that timing is possible.
3. Will I receive a proof?
We will produce a proof as a PDF (Portable Document Format) and email it to you. WE request that you review all elements of the proof to check every aspect is correct and looks as you had intended. Then we ask you to confirm that it is correct and we can commence printing.
4. What are some common stocks used for Business Cards?
There are many options depending on your needs. These 5 Things will assist you make your business cards work for you.
Stocks vary depending on your needs and design.
Coated stocks – glossy stock with a high sheen finish
Uncoated stocks – matt sock that is easy to write on
Cell Glaze – can be matt, gloss or soft touch (velvet finish)
Spot varnish can be used to highlight to part of your card
Paper stock for business cards can vary from light weight 120gsm to heavy weight 350gsm.
5. How should I supply a job for printing?
We work across the Microsoft and Adobe suite of software and are able to accept any file from these programs.
We are always happy to discuss your requirements to save time and effort in preparing your files for printing.
File types that we readily accept include
PDF – Portable Document File
EPS – Encapsulated Post Script
JPEG – Joint Photographic Experts Group (allows an image to be saved several times smaller than the original without losing any quality)
JFIF - File Interchange Format
TIFF – This is basically a high quality form of a JPEG and you have a number of options around them.
6. What does print ready mean?
A print ready document would be best supplied as a PDF. The fonts would be imbedded and any graphics (images/photos) would be at least 350dpi (dots per inch) at the size it is going to be printed.
If there is printing required right to the edge of the paper you would need to allow a 3mm bleed with crop marks in the document.
Some files when being produced using design software may contain ‘Layers’. To be able to print these files the layers need to be flattened (bringing all the layers together so what you see on the screen is what will print).
7. What equipment do you have?
Technology is always changing and advancing and keeping up with it takes a dedicated effort. We are continually looking to invest in our business and have the equipment and technologies that enable us to offer you the latest products and services.
For most people the make and model of equipment used doesn't matter. What really matters is the final result. And that's the way it should be. The only thing you really need to know is that we will use whatever technology is needed to work for you and your business.
That said, we have a variety of in house capabilities including full printing production using either a 2 colour offset press or digital production equipment, and for finishing your printing requirements; folders, guillotine, cello glazer, padding, numbering, and scoring machines.
8. Will you deliver?
Our delivery van will delivery around the Central Coast and Northern Suburbs of Sydney every week. A courier service will be used for jobs with special delivery needs.
